What exactly does the Parish Board do? In our bylaws, the Parish Board's responsibilities are to call congregational meetings, supervise the minister, appoint committees, prepare the annual budget, and act in the interest of the members of First Parish in Brookline. Over the last year, this meant putting together the Search Committee, working with the minister to hire staff, creating personnel policy, preparing a budget, holding our Annual Meeting, supporting our work with DEEP, and working with all members of the church on the issues that affect us.
For 2018-2019, the nine members of the Parish Board are:
- Michele David (Chair)
- Gene Thompson-Grove (Chair Elect)
- Alice Mark (Clerk)
- Charles Sandmel (Treasurer)
- Janet Britcher
- David Cave
- Dave Demerjian
- Laura Hatfield
- Stephen Pratt-Otto
Parish Board meetings are open to church members and usually take place on the first Monday of the month from 7pm to 9:15pm in the Dana Room - please join us! You can also find minutes from our past meetings on our Reports page.
