Visiting children are invited to participate in our Religious Exploration program. Children are also welcome to remain in the sanctuary with their parent/guardian. Guests are asked to fill out a Guest Registration Form so that we may know you and your child, as well as to gather important information to make the first classroom experience a great one!
We are currently accepting kids up to 5 in the nursery on regular Sundays and up to 7 on Multi-Gen Sundays.
You are welcome to bring your child up to age 5 to the Nursery/Playgroup from before the service at 10:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. or keep him/her with you. The Nursery will accept children up to age 7 on Multi-Gen Sundays. Children in the nursery are always cared for by two adults. Generally, those are paid childcare providers. If you are attending for the first time, it is required to fill out both the front and back page (which requests information specific to Nursery care) of the Guest Registration Form for your child.
After a Time for All Ages or Candles of Joy and Concern in the sanctuary, children go to age-appropriate classrooms.
Right Relations: Comfort and Safety for all of Us...
In the spirit of creating intentional and meaningful community, the Religious Exploration Committee and the Parish Board promote and uphold practices, guidelines, and policies to ensure the emotional and physical safety of everyone in our church community.
In addition to the "two-adult practice" in every setting when minor children and youth are gathered, all persons leading in our Religious Exploration Program are asked to submit to a Background Check. We sincerely hope that this measure is seen as a proactive step towards common safety precautions in everyone's best interest.
Following are the current practices, guidelines, and policies in the Religious Exploration Program at First Parish in Brookline:
