Providing Support, Shelter and More

FPB’s Immigration Justice Committee (IJC) works in partnership with others to advance the cause of immigrants in our community and beyond.

Wondering why and how we work in partnership?
Recent partnerships have included….

Supporting Immigrant Families

Solidarity and support with Haitian families through Immigrant Family Services Institute (IFSI) in Mattapan, including ongoing deliveries of clothing, household, and baby items. We sponsored a People’s Café Dinner and Concert in the spring to raise funds for IFSI.

Empowering Immigrant Communities

Partnering activities with La Colaborativa, a Chelsea-based organization empowering Latinx immigrants to enhance the social and economic health of the community and its people. We help with food distribution on a weekly basis and FP raised approximately $2,500 from a special collection.

Relationship building with our Kichwa neighbors from Ecuador.

Taking Action For Immigrants

Partnership with other UUs and community organizations as members of UU Mass Action’s Immigration Justice Working Group to mobilize action and support for key legislative campaigns.

We have also worked towards relationship building with our Kichwa neighbors from Ecuador.

Providing Shelter for Seekers

Partnership with two Brookline interfaith groups—NBARC (Newton Brookline Asylum Resettlement Coalition) and All Saints Church—to provide direct support for immigrants housed in Brookline.
